What triggers a charge
Charged
When you activate a matter, which you do before it takes its first trust receipt. Once, against that matter, and never again for the life of the file.
Not charged
- A matter you have opened but not activated, however long it sits there.
- Every later receipt, payment or transfer on a matter already charged.
- Users. Add your bookkeeper, your paralegal and your examiner at no cost.
- Reports, reconciliations, exports and statements.
- Your first two matters, ever.
What it comes to
Worth doing before you estimate it on paper. The usual mistake is to assume the charge repeats every month, which gives a number several times too large.

GST
The $25 includes GST. Nothing is added on top, and the price you see on this page is the price that leaves your account.
Paying
You pay by card, through Stripe, when you activate a matter. The fee report in the application lists every activated matter and what was paid, kept entirely apart from your trust records. Software fees never touch trust money.
Whether you pass the charge on to a client is a question about your retainer and your professional obligations. That is your judgement, not ours.
If you leave
Your records stay. Trust records carry a seven-year retention obligation and it is yours, not ours, so leaving ends new entries, not your access to the record or your ability to export it. Tell us before you go and the export is arranged with you. Nothing is destroyed, at any point.
How you start
With a conversation. Firms are being set up one at a time, by the person who wrote the software, and the walkthrough doubles as the changeover: your open matters, your opening balances, and where your receipt numbering picks up. Self-serve signup is coming. Until then, the conversation is the signup.
